Personal Support Worker

The healthcare industry in Canada is constantly growing, and there’s always a steady need for healthcare professionals of all kinds. CCHST’s Personal Support Worker diploma program prepares you for a challenging but enriching career as a supportive member of a healthcare team.

You’ll learn to assist persons who are unable to independently manage their daily routine during periods of incapacitation, recuperation or other physical or emotional disruptions. Your responsibilities will vary for each client, but may include helping with personal care and hygiene, dressing, nutrition, assisting with exercises and general housekeeping. You’ll complement your hours of in-class theory and labs with a work practicum that gives you real work experience.  You’ll graduate with the training and confidence required to work in nursing homes, homecare agencies, rest homes, retirement homes and community living agencies, among other healthcare environments.
